I am writing on this subject as a response to the 2 part series on the subject of gay teens in the Daily News February 10th and 17th "Family" section. I read every word of both parts and feel a proper Biblical response is necessary to these articles. Both parts with their accompanying articles definitely had a sympathetic slant. I noticed also as usual, not one Bible reference was given. Also, as usual, vague references to the Bible were used to pull on the emotional heartstrings rather than deal with the subject honestly and Biblically. Until one has gone to the Bible to find the answers to questions about this subject, he or she will have a worldly bias without a Biblical basis.

Watch how confusing the subject can be when not dealt with in a Biblical fashion: God created man; supposedly, He created some gay (Sodomite),and then God condemns sodomy; therefore, God is the one guilty!

It becomes quite obvious that God cannot both create the sodomite and condemn sodomy! It is exactly the same error of the hypercalvinists which teach that God invites all to be saved, and then He picks some to be saved and some to be lost. Absurd! So the lost cannot be saved and God again is blamed for their lost condition. Absurd!

The whole question of sodomy must be answered from the Bible. You cannot accept homosexuality (sodomy) without rejecting the Bible.

While I was in the mall recently, a group of about 7 young men in their early teens came by. One of these young boys made this statement: "All of my friends are gay." It is obvious that not all young boys in their early teens are gay and the sin of sodomy is passed from one to another by experience rather than by birth. A person becomes a sodomite when he or she accepts that lifestyle in direct opposition to the Word of God.

Please read Gen. 19 and Romans 1.

I used the word "Gay" in the title because "gay" was used in the newspaper articles, however, I will use the Biblical word "Sodomite" in the body of these articles.

In Part 1 of the Daily News article titled "Gay teens struggle to survive" Scott discovered a SECRET about himself. The SECRET we are to believe he DISCOVERED is that he is gay (sodomite). We are then told, "He didn't ask to be gay, he will tell you, and he doesn't know why he is. Who would he ask?"

Now in order to bolster the supposed dilemma, we are led to believe that he has nowhere to turn to for answers. Can he go to his teacher? Answer: "Never heard a teacher explain it." Do you know why? A teacher could not give a Biblical answer without bringing on the authorities. What about school books? Not there either. What about his family? "No Way". What about his Church? Strike out there too. Surely there is somewhere he can find the answers to his questions? I cannot believe the writers of the series did not think of the Bible!!!!! Of course, why bring in the "opinion" of an "antiquated, biased, mostly judgmental book.?

Let me here give some words lifted from the articles in the Daily News which caused me to judge the articles "sympathetic": They are: ashamed, fearful, guilt, confused, tortured, dependent, tormented On the other hand, Family, friends and Churches are said to be intolerant, taunting, joking, calling it disgusting. reacting with pure hatred. angry and prejudiced. Then those coming to tolerance, acceptance and understanding were presented as the good guys. My opinion is that the articles looked more for sympathy than for answers and it would be enlightening for us to know more about the writers of the series. For that reason, I will give the Biblical answers to the SIN OF SODOMY. I can dogmatically state that no one has ever been "born" a sodomite. I know that some males are more feminine and some females are more masculine, but I disagree with the notion that they are born sodomite! Sodomy is a choice not a condition as I shall prove from the most loved and most hated Book the world has ever known, The Bible, God's Word!

I must emphasize again that my beliefs are based on the plain teaching of Scriptures, and where there is a conflict of ideas between God and man, God is always right. Having said that, please spare me the arguments based upon secular reasoning. An example of this is found in a recent Daily News article (Feb. 25, 1998) titled "Scientists search for what tempts, how we resist." Listen to this statement: "...science is now busy trying to qualify and quantify the way moral failings work." If science (scientists ) would believe the Bible and go to the Bible, they could save themselves a lot of trouble. You and I know though that they could not justify their research money and could not sell their studies.

These poor little genes in our bodies are being blamed for more than their share of human moral failure. My dear friends, man is responsible for his moral behavior! Instead of searching scientifically for a cause of sodomy, go to the Bible and search Scripturally for the answers. But no, science first forms its belief system and then searches for a justifiable answer. This is what "science" does with the theory of evolution. The models are flawed because the truth is rejected. When one decides first what he or she wants to believe, then he or she will spend time, energy and money to verify that belief. The question then to be answered is this: "What do you want to believe?" You may spend you life trying to prove what you want to believe and never find the truth you ought to believe. Now, as I have said before in previous articles, my belief system is built upon the Bible, and this belief system will never be reconciled with a worldly, humanistic or secular scientific view. This is not a question of whether the glass is half full or is it half empty...The question is, "What is in the glass?" Perception and truth are not necessarily the same! With this subject we are not looking for perception. We are looking for truth! Where does one go for truth? The world's wisdom or the Bible? The answer for me is "THE BIBLE". TO ACCEPT THE WORLD'S VIEW WOULD REQUIRE A REJECTION OF GOD'S WORD! WE CANNOT ACCEPT BOTH. Paul told the Corinthians in 1 Cor.2:4-5 "And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power. That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God."

A question must be answered before we continue: Can a person be "gay" and not be "sodomite"? In Matt. 5:27-28 Jesus states, "Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, 'Thou shalt not commit adultery:' But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." Isn't that amazing? He "committed adultery with her already in his heart", without committing the act! If you look at Romans 1:26, you will see what is called "vile affections". Col.3:5 refers to "inordinate affections". "Inordinate" is the same word translated "affections" in Rom. 1:26 and is the same Gk. word, pathos, a passion, especially concupiscence. "Concupiscence" means: longing or lusting for what is forbidden! Romans 1:26 refers to "natural use", v27 "natural use", and v31 speaks of those as being "without natural affection". Natural means, physical instinctive nature. In other words, it is compared with bestiality and is unnatural! Not normal! Against nature! It is against the instinctive, God-given nature of a man to lust after a man, or a woman after a woman!

Notice in Romans 1:27, "And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, BURNED in their LUST one toward another: MEN WITH MEN working that which is UNSEEMLY', and receiving in themselves that recompense of their ERROR which was meet" The Gk. word translated "Unseemly" means: an indecency, and is also translated "shame."

Friends, I am not highly educated, but I know that if I go to the hardware store and buy a threaded male screw, it has absolutely no good purpose apart from a threaded female nut! It would be insane for me to try to put two threaded male screws together outside the intended purpose.

The male/female principle is seen in human nature, animal nature, the plant kingdom, and as seen in the above example, in the design of manmade things like, screws and nuts, electric plugs and sockets etc. Friends, God designed this world and the highest order of that design was creation of human kind in the likeness of God. "Male and female created He them"!!! Genesis 1:27

As you remember, these articles were prompted by the 2 part series recently appearing in our Daily News. I have been offering a Biblical view sodomy, an abomination that is wearing away at the moral foundation and fabric of our nation. History is repeating itself in America.

In Genesis 9:20-27, after the flood, Noah began to be an husbandman. In v21, "he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent." In v22, his son "Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without." They covered him and in verse 24, "Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him." Then in v25 Noah said, "Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren."

Now if you will look down in Gen. 10 you will see how the three sons of Noah repopulated the earth. If you take the time to do this, you will see in v19 "And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even unto Lasha."

The great wickedness of Ham was carried into Sodom and Gomorrah!

Now if you go to Genesis 19, you find that Lot the nephew of Abraham has moved into Sodom. In Genesis 18:20 God says, "Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous." God reveals to Abraham that He is going to destroy them for this great sin. The angelic messengers go toward Sodom and Abraham bargains with God to spare Sodom. please read v23-33. Once in Sodom, these angelic beings manifested in human form are met by Lot in the gate of the city, urged to come to his house. They say "we will abide in the street all night." Lot presses upon them greatly, they go into his house and v4-7 the Sodomites surround the house demanding of Lot to "bring them out unto us, that we may know them." The word "know" is the same word used in Gen. 4:1 where Adam "Knew" his wife Eve and she "conceived". Why else would Lot in Gen. 19:7 say to the Sodomites, "I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly."? In v8 Lot offered his two daughters, "which have not known man." God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of the sin of sodomy! God will not forever overlook this great sin in America.

I pointed out earlier that Ham had sodomized his father Noah while he lay drunk and uncovered. (Gen. 9:20-27). How did I come to this conclusion? "Noah knew what his younger son had done unto him." By reading Leviticus 18:6-19 and 20:18-21, it is obvious that "uncovered" means more than naked. It includes the committing of some act of a sexual nature. Please look closely at Lev.18:6-7 "None of you shall approach to any that is near of kin to him, to uncover their nakedness: I am the LORD. The nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not uncover: she is thy mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness." To what purpose would someone uncover another person's nakedness?

Please look at Romans 1:18-32 for a few concluding thoughts:

1. The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness v18.
2. God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lust of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves. v24.
3. They changed the truth of God into a lie and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator. v25.
4. Again, v26, God gave them up unto vile affections because the women changed the natural use (man with woman) into that which is against nature, (woman with woman).
5. Men, leaving the natural use ( man with woman) burned in their lust one toward another, men with men working that which is unseemly.
6. Receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet
7. Did not like to retain God in their knowledge. v28. In the 2 part Daily News series on Gay teens, "Johnnie - once a regular churchgoer- said he no longer believes in God."
8. Again v28, God gave them over to reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.
9. V29-31 gives the characteristics of a reprobate mind.
10. V32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death.

I do not know at what point God gives someone over to a reprobate mind. Obviously not all sodomites have reprobate minds, since some have turned from their sin to the Saviour. I do know that the longer a person resists the Holy Spirit, the harder they become. At a point known only to God, He gives them over to a reprobate mind after which there is no hope that they will ever turn from their sin to Christ. I urge you to turn to Christ while you may.

BIBLE BELIEVING CHRISTIANS DO NOT HATE SODOMITES. WE HATE THEIR SIN AS GOD HATES IT. OUR DESIRE IS THAT THEY MAY TURN FROM THEIR SIN TO CHRIST AND BE MADE FREE! FREE FROM THE PENALTY OF SIN AND FREE FROM THE POWER OF SIN! "IF THE SON THEREFORE SHALL MAKE YOU FREE, YE SHALL BE FREE INDEED"! JOHN 8:36
